Wedding at Dehesa de los Canónigos, Valladolid

As a wedding photographer and a native of this beautiful wine-producing region, I have a special connection with the Ribera del Duero. This magical setting, just a few kilometers from Valladolid, inspires me, allowing me to tell you beautiful stories and meet couples every season who are eager to capture those moments.

Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing Esme and Dani’s wedding story at Dehesa de los Canónigos during a magical St. John’s night. This estate, one of the great historic estates of the Ribera del Duero, not only boasts more than a century of history and a rich architectural heritage but is also an ideal place to celebrate outdoor weddings on summer nights like these.

Esme got ready at the Monastery of Valbuena, one of my favorite places to photograph a wedding in the Ribera del Duero. She was accompanied by her sister, with whom she shares a special bond. Esme looked incredibly beautiful, and her smile said it all.

Meanwhile, Dani got dressed at the estate, surrounded by his closest family. Hugs, knowing glances, and fun moments made this a special and unique time.

The civil wedding ceremony was held outdoors, adorned with beautiful floral styling that enhanced the setting. The wedding guests laughed and enjoyed themselves to the fullest. Some special guests gave heartfelt speeches, highlighting the value of the friendship they share with the couple. These were moments worth living and listening to. Esme and Dani read their vows and life wishes, concluding with “the long-awaited I do” to end the wedding ceremony.

Once the wedding ceremony ended, we took a few minutes to relax, a moment to breathe, and in the calm atmosphere, create their couple’s session. This part of the day, within the wedding report, is crucial and very special to me. I emphasize the value of time during a wedding and the importance of stepping back, breathing, loving each other for a moment, and with renewed energy, returning and continuing. As a photographer, that time of connection is key to creating beautiful photographs.

We did part of the shoot in the outdoor areas of Dehesa de los Canónigos, where everything unfolded naturally, without forcing anything. We also photographed in some of the estate’s most beautiful corners, a place surrounded by vegetation where we were blessed with spectacular light.

I´m a big fan of outdoor wedding banquets, where the stationery and floral decorations create a magical atmosphere, especially on a summer night like this one. Esme and Dani’s wedding was a clear example of this. The banquet started with energy right from the beginning and never lost momentum.

Each guest found a letter on their plate, a gesture that touched more than one heart and filled the atmosphere with emotion. It was something truly beautiful! Midway through the banquet, Esme gave her bouquet to her sister, creating a really special moment that symbolized their strong bond.

The celebration was filled with good friendships, where every laugh and every tear became part of a shared story. And when the banquet ended, the party kicked off in full swing, continuing until dawn, leaving unforgettable memories that only those who were there will truly know.

Capturing these moments at this wedding in Valladolid was a true honor.
