A 15th-CENTURY MONASTERY & A DESTINATION WEDDING IN VALLADOLID
Just 30 kilometers from Valladolid lies one of those places where time seems to stand still: a former 15th-century monastery masterfully restored by architect Rafael Moneo. A perfect place to celebrate a minimal wedding in Valladolid. This is where this story began, framed by stone cloisters, historic walls, and a light that enveloped everything.
Jeremy dressed surrounded by his family, who had come from Canada to celebrate this big day. The atmosphere of a destination wedding in Valladolid was filled with subdued emotion, long hugs, and glances that spoke louder than words. Their calm energy and natural elegance set the perfect tone for the start of the day.
THE BRIDE: DESIGN, STYLE AND NATURAL BEAUTY
Silvia, from Valladolid but living in Barcelona, shone brightly from the first moment. Her dress, designed by bridal designer Gina Madí, was a true work of art: a combination of pieces that allowed for two different looks for both the ceremony and the party. The star of the show: a wild silk bodice with a draped halterneck, accompanied first by a long chiffon skirt and later by a shorter version with a maxi ruffle and a slit in the front. All in a delicate ivory white that unified textures with a subtle and elegant harmony.
She completed her look with a straw hat from Eliurpi and jewelry from Pia Barcelona. The finishing touch was her bouquet of Bells of Ireland, as delicate as it was unique. She got dressed at the Castilla Termal Hotel in Olmedo, where the warm light that entered through the windows transformed every moment into a natural, sincere, and elegant photograph.
CEREMONY: EMOTION AND NATURAL BEAUTY
The ceremony took place in a space that didn’t need excessive adornments. The beauty of the surroundings, wrapped in carefully curated natural decor, created an almost magical atmosphere. Silvia arrived in a classic car, surrounded by emotion. Tears of joy, knowing glances, and long hugs were the ingredients of a deeply emotional ceremony.
Friends and family from around the world were an active and emotional part of Silvia and Jeremy’s “I do.” A unique moment, experienced with an open heart.
BANQUET: AMONG FLOWERS, DISCUSES AND HUGS
The banquet was held in the monastery’s former cloister, a space that combined history and emotion. The floral decoration provided just the right touch to transform the place into something even more special.
The speeches were immediate: words full of history, shared memories, and messages that truly moved us. Every toast, every laugh, every tear shed, added to a night that would be hard to forget.
REPORT AT SUNSET: A SWEET AND SIMPLE LIGHT
After the banquet, while the guests were preparing for the big party, we escaped once more. With the calm of the afternoon and the golden light falling softly on the surroundings, we did a brief photo shoot that spoke volumes: natural, simple, and with that intimacy that only couples who truly love each other possess.
PARTY: THE MOMENT TO BREAK THE GROUND
The entrance to the party was explosive. Silvia and Jeremy entered with overflowing energy, infecting all the guests. There was a great desire to dance, to celebrate without any restrictions, to experience one of those wedding parties where everyone remembers giving it their all.
And so it was. They danced until they were exhausted, and just when it seemed like it couldn’t get any better… the energy picked up again. A real party.
For wedding photographers in Spain, experiencing a destination wedding in Valladolid like Silvia & Jeremy’s is always a treat. Documenting weddings with a natural style that brings together families from different parts of the world is one of the most beautiful things this job gives me. Thank you for letting me into your story.
